Leuven, Belgium, August 24, 2011 - LMS International, the leading partner in test and mechatronic simulation today announced that it has acquired a 60% controlling majority position of SAMTECH, the Liège-based European provider of Computer Aided Engineering and structure analysis software. Under the leadership of Eric Carnoy as CEO, LMS SAMTECH will become the centre of the worldwide aerospace simulation business in the LMS Group. Including SAMTECH, LMS projects for 2011 combined revenues of 175 Million Euros or approximately 250 Million Dollars, and employs 1150 people over 35 countries.

NUMECA Acquires VNoise Technology

Brussels, Belgium – July 28th, 2011

NUMECA International announces the acquisition of the acoustic simulation technology developed by Scientific Technical Software (STS, Varese, Italy). The acquisition targets VNoise, a scalable and complete suite for acoustic, aero-acoustic and vibro-acoustic analysis which includes the dedicated modules FWH Solver (Aero-acoustics of blades and fans), Flow-Noise (Flow generated noise) , VNoiseCluster (Parallel calculations), and a coupled BEM/FEM solver for acoustic propagation in uniform and non uniform flows.

“Thanks to this acquisition, NUMECA International becomes the one and only software provider in the world that offers a complete CFD and acoustic package. Furthermore, the combination with our innovative Non Linear Harmonics (NLH) technology provides unrivaled turn-around times for aero-acoustics simulations”, commented Pr. BWB Presentation at UPM using NUMECA FINE(TM)/HEXA


NUMECA has the pleasure to announce the 7th edition of its Users Meeting, which will be held in Brussels on the 15th and 16th of November 2011. This event will take place at the Renaissance hotel, in the heart of the EU district. You are kindly invited to join us for these 2 days of users presentations, products seminars and technical discussions, and to our dining event on November 15th. Our keynote speaker, Luc Vervisch, will be making a presentation on “Turbulent Combustion Modeling and Mixing Time‐History Effects in Large Eddy Simulation”. Pr Vervisch’s activities at INSA & CORIA are in numerical simulation of flames and combustion modeling. He is one of the leading worldwide experts in Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) and Large Eddy Simulation (LES) techniques applied to turbulent combustion modeling.
